I Become the Pearl of the Family After Our Marriage - Aylin

Bryson and Aylin talked for a long time.

At noon, Aylin had lunch with him. After lunch, they played chess.

In the afternoon, Aylin left the studio.

Passing by a mall, Aylin suddenly remembered she needed to buy something, so she asked the taxi driver to stop.

She got out of the car and walked into the mall.

In the cosmetics section, Carmen was holding Kael's arm. "Why did you come back early? Weren't you supposed to return next month?"

"What's wrong? Aren't you happy I came back early?"

"Of course not," Carmen smiled. "I'm just surprised."

They continued walking when Carmen suddenly noticed a familiar figure. It was Aylin!

She immediately stopped and pulled Kael back.

"What's wrong? Why did you stop suddenly?" Kael looked at her.

"Nothing, I just don't feel like looking at cosmetics anymore. Let's go check out the new bags over there," Carmen quickly turned and led Kael in the opposite direction.

She couldn't let Aylin see her brother, and she definitely couldn't let him see Aylin.

Kael was known as a playboy. Carmen knew that if Aylin made a move, he would fall for it. Even though Kael had been fooling around, she didn't want Aylin to be one of them.

Aylin didn't even deserve to be his brother's plaything!

"By the way, I heard that bumpkin came to your birthday party?" Kael suddenly asked.

Hearing Carmen mention Aylin made her frown. "Yes, but Grandpa, Mom, and Dad taught her a lesson. She probably won't dare to dream of marrying into our family again. But Kael, you should stay far away from that bumpkin."

Kael, who was flirtatious but picky, looked disdainful. "I don't have such a bad taste."

Carmen cautioned, "I'm worried she'll cling to you once she knows you're back."

Kael sneered, "Then she's asking for trouble."

Thinking about his past engagement to an ugly bumpkin made him sick. It was already generous of him not to have her kicked out of Faypine.

Aylin went upstairs without noticing them.

After buying what she needed, she left the mall directly.

At Rosewood Point.

Frederick checked the time again. "It's so late already. Why isn't she back yet?"

He was eager to meet the woman who managed to win Joaquin over and get him to marry her so quickly.

Whether this marriage was real or not, it was rare for Joaquin. Frederick had thought no woman would ever get close to Joaquin in this lifetime.

Joaquin sipped his tea leisurely and glanced at Frederick. "Have you contacted Visage?"

Mentioning Visage darkened Frederick's expression. "Yes, but she refused."

"Why?"

"I don't know. They say she's eccentric and does things based on her mood."

Next Sunday was Frederick's grandfather, Gregory Kew's 70th birthday. Frederick's parents wanted to find their biological daughter before Gregory's birthday but had no leads so far.

Frederick also wanted to find his sister soon to see how she had been all these years.

He had spent a lot of money trying to contact the mysterious hacker, Visage, but was rejected.

Thinking about this made Frederick feel frustrated.

"I'll try contacting her," Joaquin said.

Frederick looked over and thought for a moment. "Alright."

Joaquin immediately instructed Gary to contact Visage.

As they talked, Aylin returned.

Frederick saw her through the large floor-to-ceiling window in the yard.

"Seriously? Is she your wife?"

Frederick was momentarily surprised but then smiled at Joaquin, "I knew there was something unusual about you two that night. It was the first time I saw you talk to a woman voluntarily. So you were involved after all!"

Joaquin remained silent, his eyes fixed on Aylin's figure.

After a while, Aylin entered the living room.

Frederick leaned lazily on the sofa with a charming smile. "Hello again, beautiful."

Aylin walked over and smiled faintly, "Mr. Kew."

Frederick lounged on the sofa. "No need to be so formal. Just call me Frederick."

Frederick and Joaquin were the same age. Frederick's birthday was two months earlier than Joaquin's. He always wanted Joaquin to call him brother, but with Joaquin's aloof personality, that would never happen.

He watched Aylin expectantly, waiting for her to speak.

Seeing his roguish demeanor, Aylin remained silent.

Frederick raised an eyebrow slightly. "Why aren't you saying anything?"

Not being familiar with Frederick, Aylin didn't give him much face and looked at Joaquin instead for his attitude on the matter.

Joaquin spoke leisurely. "Ignore him."

Aylin nodded. "Okay."

Frederick looked speechless at both of them.

Joaquin's lips curved slightly in a faint smile.

"I'll leave you two to chat. I'm going upstairs." Aylin didn't want to stay with them any longer, especially with Frederick teasing her around.

Joaquin replied, "Go ahead."

Aylin went upstairs alone.

Frederick sipped his tea and suddenly asked, "Are you taking her to my grandfather's birthday banquet next week?"

Joaquin paused while holding his teacup before responding, "Yes."

"Are you sure?"

Joaquin replied firmly, "Of course."

Frederick chuckled, "That's quite rare."

Aylin had just returned upstairs when she suddenly remembered something and turned back toward the railing overlooking downstairs.

She saw Frederick saying something and laughing. It was a harmonious scene that reminded Aylin of something someone once said, "Joaquin isn't interested in women."

She paused before calling out, "Joaquin."

Hearing this, Joaquin was slightly taken aback. Few people called him by his given name directly, especially among young people. This crisp call gave him an inexplicable feeling inside him. For some reason, he couldn't explain himself either.

He looked up towards the upper floor, where the girl was standing by the railing, watching him.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Did you see my necklace? I left it in the bathroom yesterday."

That necklace was the only thing left behind by her father. It meant a lot to her. Yesterday while bathing, she took it off and forgot to bring it back afterwards.

Joaquin saw it and placed it back into her room but didn't mention this in front of Frederick. Instead, he said, "It's in the drawer of vanity."

The vanity?

There wasn't any vanity in Joaquin's bedroom. Instantly realizing he must mean her own room, she replied, "Got it, thanks."

The figure by the railing disappeared.

Joaquin withdrew his gaze.

"Your wife seems polite towards you," Frederick teased.

Joaquin replied seriously, "That's called mutual respect."

Frederick was speechless.

Aylin found the necklace inside her bedroom. Instead of putting it on, she placed it in a box and put it back in the drawer.

Just then, her phone received a WhatsApp message, and she took it out to check it.

"Visage, another high-paying search job."

Aylin replied directly, "Don't contact me for a while, I'm not taking any jobs."

"Understood"
