I Become the Pearl of the Family After Our Marriage - Aylin

Aylin choked up, recalling the last incident, and didn't retort.

Thinking that they had already shared a bed before, she didn't mind and said, "I'll go take a shower first."

With that, she walked towards the bathroom.

Joaquin sat on the sofa, took out his phone, and made a call.

When Aylin came out after her shower, he was looking down at his phone. She walked straight to the bed, lifted the blanket, and lay down with her back to him. "I'm going to sleep first," she said.

Joaquin looked up. "Sleeping so early?"

Aylin kept her eyes closed. "Yes."

After replying to a few messages on his phone, Joaquin put it down and went to the bathroom. He came out shortly after and lay down beside her.

Aylin was not yet asleep. She could clearly feel someone beside her, an indescribable feeling surging through her heart.

Probably because she was not used to it, her heartbeat was irregular.

Joaquin quietly looked at the bulge in the quilt beside him. He had no stray thoughts, but then that WhatsApp message flashed through his mind again.

Aylin hadn't graduated yet. The only person who could be considered her boss was Rodrigo.

So she liked Rodrigo?

Did she join Polaris Technologies to get close to him?

The next morning.

When Aylin woke up, there was no one beside her. She got up immediately to wash up and went downstairs.

In the living room downstairs, Joaquin was talking with Nathan.

Seeing her come down, Joaquin said, "Good morning."

Aylin looked at him and responded, "Good morning, Nathan."

Nathan smiled back, "Let's go have breakfast. We should leave soon."

The three of them walked towards the dining room together. Aylin followed beside Joaquin. "When did you wake up? Why didn't you call me?"

Joaquin said, "It's still early. You could sleep a bit more."

Aylin looked at him and pursed her lips without speaking, feeling that sometimes this guy could be quite considerate.

After breakfast and some more preparations, they set off for the Kew family.

In the car.

Aylin suddenly remembered something and quickly took out her phone from her bag to send a message to Bryson, telling him that she would also attend Sir Kew's birthday banquet.

Bryson was not surprised and replied, "I guessed you would definitely come."

Aylin was speechless.

Not long after, the three arrived at the manor of the Kew family.

Aylin wore a champagne-colored dress. The stylist had done her makeup and hair, making her even more stunningly beautiful.

Joaquin wore a high-end custom suit. He was tall and handsome beyond compare.

Standing together, they looked like a match made in heaven, drawing the attention of everyone around them.

In the banquet hall, members of the Kew family came out to greet them. Christopher Kew and his wife were the first to step forward.

"Mr. Backham, Joaquin, you're here." Christopher, Frederick's father, greeted them with a smile and then looked at Aylin. "This must be Joaquin's wife."

"Yes, Mr. and Mrs. Kew, this is my wife, Aylin." Joaquin introduced them, "Aylin, this is Christopher and Irene."

Aylin smiled in response, "Nice to meet you both, Mr. and Mrs. Kew."

Irene maintained her smile and said softly, "Hello dear, come in and sit down. Make yourself at home."

Aylin replied, "Thank you."

Nathan spoke with a doting tone, "Aylin, the Beckhams and the Kews have been friends for generations. There's no need to be reserved here."

Aylin smiled. "Okay."

"Mr. Backham, I got here before you today." Bryson's voice rang out.

Hearing the familiar voice, Aylin immediately looked over.

Her lips curled into a smile as she saw his familiar figure.

Nathan laughed heartily, "You're quite early today." Then he turned to Aylin and said, "Aylin, come over and meet Mr. Kew and Mr. Hector."

Following Nathan over, Aylin first greeted Gregory Kew. "Hello, Sir Kew." Then she turned to Bryson. "Hello, Mr. Hector."

Gregory nodded with a smile. "Good girl. Joaquin has good taste."

Bryson agreed. "Indeed, I also think she's very good."

Joaquin smiled as he greeted both of them and offered birthday wishes to Gregory.

Gregory thanked him happily.

Nathan then said to Bryson, "Bryson, when will you bring your disciple out to meet everyone? She's always so mysterious."

Bryson chuckled, "My disciple is introverted and doesn't like meeting strangers. I don't want to force her."

Gregory said, "What's the harm? Joaquin is married now. My two grandsons are still single. It's a good chance they could get acquainted and maybe she could date one of them."

Aylin didn't know what to say.

Bryson replied, "That won't do!"

Gregory asked, "Why not?"

"My disciple has a boyfriend now."

"Oh well then. Maybe after they break up."

At that moment, Frederick walked over and said, "Grandpa, you shouldn't worry about these things."

Gregory looked at him. "Then find yourself a wife, so I don't have to worry."

Frederick replied, "Bernard isn't married yet. You should worry about him first, not me."

Gregory snorted and turned his head towards the hall. "Where are Bernard and Clare? Why haven't I seen them?"

"They're upstairs sorting things out," Frederick answered.

Meanwhile, upstairs in the bedroom.

Clare Kew stood by the floor-to-ceiling window with hatred in her eyes.

Joaquin had really gotten married! He would rather marry any random woman than accept her?

Why wasn't she born into the Kew family? Why did such things have to happen? Why did fate have to mock her like this?

And that woman, what right did she have to marry Joaquin?

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door outside, followed by Irene's voice. "Clare."

Hearing this, Clare immediately suppressed all hostility around her and went over to open the door, gently saying, "Mom."

Irene walked in before stroking her daughter's head. "Don't you want to go down?"

Clare lowered her head looking distressed. "Mom, I'm sorry. I'm not feeling well."

"I understand."

Irene knew that Clare liked Joaquin. Seeing him bring his new wife must be hard for Clare. Even though Clare wasn't biologically her daughter, she had always treated Clare like her own daughter. She hoped Clare would marry someone she loved and live happily ever after.

She had originally planned to bring up the matter at Gregory's birthday banquet, asking Nathan to talk Joaquin into marrying Clare. If Nathan spoke up in public, Joaquin might consider it.

However, she never expected that Joaquin would suddenly get married, leaving her completely unprepared.

Clare forced a smile. "I understand, really. After all, I'm not your biological daughter, and I'm not a true member of the Kew family."

"Don't say such foolish things! You are a member of the Kew family, and you will always be my daughter. Joaquin isn't the kind of person who would reject you because of your background," Irene said with a sigh. "Clare, matters of the heart can't be forced. Since he doesn't like you, you should move on. There are plenty of good men out there. I'll make sure to find you someone even better."

Clare pressed her lips together, remaining silent. She didn't want any other man. She only wanted Joaquin!

The Beckham family was the foremost financial power in Faypine. And as the one in charge of the Beckham family, there was no man more outstanding or esteemed than Joaquin!
